How can you take this course?
Course description
Professional Scrum Master is a training for Scrum Masters designed in 2010 by one of the creators of Scrum – Ken Schwaber. Since then, the course is continuously updated and enhanced by selected members of Scrum.org – certified Professional Scrum Trainers.
Code Sprinters was the first company in Poland offering Professional Scrum Master in 2010, replacing the outdated Certified Scrum Master classes.
The Professional Scrum Master course focuses on ways in which Scrum can be used to achieve measurable and valuable outcomes (products, services, complex systems). The goal is to provide participants with solid understanding of Scrum (its elements and rules that bind them). They will be able to explain why Scrum has been defined in the way as described in Scrum Guide. The class prepares students to work in Scrum and helps them to become successful Scrum Masters.
The agenda includes topics such as optimization of value, productivity, total cost of ownership, monitoring of progress through metrics. The course provides participants with knowledge and tools that can be used to improve their current way of working and practices they used so far.
Who should participate?
The Professional Scrum Master course is specifically targeted to Scrum Masters and those who prepare to become a Scrum Master. The participant should already have basic knowledge of Scrum before joining the class.
Product Owners, members of development teams, managers and other individuals cooperating with Scrum teams may also benefit from participating in this course.
It is possible that some of other certified Scrum.org courses fit your needs better than the Professional Scrum Master. Therefore, we encourage you to check:
- Applying Professional Scrum – the basic class preparing to work in Scrum, the best choice for complete Scrum teams.
- Professional Scrum Product Owner – for Product Owners and individuals preparing to become a Product Owner, useful also for Product Managers.
- Applying Professional Scrum for Software Development – for development teams building software, as well as for professionals and experts in various domains working in development teams (not only programmers).
- Professional Agile Leadership – for managers, leaders and supervisors.
All of the courses listed above allow proper understanding of Scrum but depending on the target audience, they focus on different aspects of agility and topics related to specific roles in Scrum.
Professional Scrum Master certificate
The Professional Scrum Master course is associated with the certificates Professional Scrum Master issued by Scrum.org. To become a holder of any of these certificates, you have to pass the exam.
There are three levels of Professional Scrum Master certificate – PSM-I, PSM-II and PSM-III – reflecting growing level of experience of the certificate holder. The PSM certificates distinguish individuals that demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Scrum and can apply it in real-life situations.
All participants of this training are entitled to take PSM-I exam with no additional cost.
